Interactive installations in public space from local waste materialsInvited by cascoland i felt very challenged to try my discipline in the former soviet-ruled country kirgystan in central asia. With the other partners of cascoland we all needed some time to get used to local ways of doing things, especially bribing and russian language. Today the police arrested me and my kirgyz assistant just in order to suppress us to get some money....but the strangest thing here that there is almost no garbage of interesting scale- i even had to pay for old car tyres - local people burn them to produce heat in dachas. Every day is learning. now the plan is to use future garbage as russian mobile cranes as support structure for our installations...Until now I only made some little tyre structures as introduction and tryout works in front of the national art museum and on the square at the historical museum. We are not sure how the public and especially the police will appreciate our interventions in public space... Project by Jan Korbes with help of Nicolai
